Cameron George has extensive experience in the racing and sports industry, currently serving as Chairman of New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing Inc since November 2020 and as Chief Operations Officer for Vodafone Warriors since July 2017. Previously, Cameron held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Auckland Racing Club from August 2012 to July 2017 and served as Chief Stipendiary Steward at both Racing Integrity Unit Ltd from November 2010 to August 2012 and New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing Inc from 2006 to 2010. Education was completed at St John's College Woodlawn in Lismore from 1989 to 1993.

New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) is the governing body for Thoroughbred horse racing in New Zealand. It oversees and regulates the sport, ensuring that races are conducted fairly and in accordance with the rules and regulations while supplying the thoroughbred product for wagering and sporting customers. Racing is a significant contributor to the New Zealand economy, accounting for a remarkable $1.6 billion (0.9% of GDP) and directly employing around 10,000 individuals. NZTR is an independent organisation responsible for the administration, promotion, and development of Thoroughbred racing in New Zealand. It works in collaboration with various race clubs throughout the country and is governed by a Board of seven Directors who are responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, decision-making, and overall management of NZTR.
