Maikel Balk is an accomplished procurement leader with extensive experience in various roles within the procurement function across multiple industries. Currently serving as Procurement Director at Neways Electronics International NV since June 2023, Balk previously held the position of Director Procurement Technical Goods & Services at OCI Global from November 2022 to May 2023. Prior to that, significant contributions as Director Procurement Excellence at Nouryon from October 2018 to September 2022 included overseeing procurement processes and analytics within a major chemical company. Balk's career at AkzoNobel spanned several roles, including Global Procurement Director for Capex, Technical Services & MRO, where the establishment of global category management structures was instrumental. Early experience involved roles focused on operational solutions, maintenance, and project management within the chemical sector. Balk's educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology and further studies at INSEAD, enhancing expertise in organizational change and procurement excellence.
