Marcie Heywood

Director Of Elementary Education at Newburgh Enlarged City School District

Marcie Heywood has extensive work experience in the education field. Marcie began their career in 2001 as an Elementary School Teacher at the Newburgh Enlarged City School District and held this role until 2011. During this time, they gained valuable classroom experience and developed their teaching skills. Afterward, Marcie transitioned to a leadership position within the same school district and became the Assistant Principal in September 2011. Marcie held this role for ten years, until July 2023. In July 2022, Marcie was promoted to the position of Director of Elementary Education, showcasing their growth and expertise in the education field.

Marcie Heywood is a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership and Administration, with a focus on General Education, at Fordham University. Prior to pursuing their doctorate, they completed a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, also in the field of General Education, at the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2011. Marcie has another Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching from the same institution, which they obtained from 2003 to 2005. Marcie Heywood's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching, as well as a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology, both from SUNY New Paltz in the years 2000 to 2002.
