Pam Smith currently serves as a Fellow at The RSA and a Visiting Professor at Newcastle University, positions held since May and April 2024, respectively. Pam has been the Chief Executive at Newcastle City Council since January 2022 and previously held Chief Executive Officer roles at Stockport MBC from September 2017 to January 2022 and Burnley Borough Council from March 2015 to August 2017. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Operating Officer at AdviserPlus from February 2013 to February 2015. Pam's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from The Open University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from MMU, along with attendance at Grange School Oldham from 1976 to 1983.
