Chris James

Chris James has extensive experience in sports management and operations, currently serving as the General Manager of Football Operations for the Newcastle Knights since January 2025. Prior to this role, Chris held various positions including Head of Football Operations, Football Operations Manager, and Specialist Coach at the Sydney Roosters from January 2018 to January 2025. In addition to a successful career in rugby league, which includes serving as a Professional Match Official with the National Rugby League from May 2007 to November 2017, Chris also owned F45 Training facilities in Earlwood and Kingsgrove, NSW, from September 2016 to November 2024. Earlier experience includes working as a Contractor Sales Manager at Goodman Fielder from November 2003 to November 2007. Chris holds a Certificate IV in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from Fitnation and completed high school education at John Therry Catholic High School.
