John Devine

John Devine currently serves as General Counsel at Newcastle United Football Club since November 2022. Previously, John held trustee positions with NFL Foundation UK, The Chelsea Players' Trust, and CHELSEA FC FOUNDATION, contributing to the sports and charity sectors. Renowned for expertise in sports law, John was a Partner at Muckle LLP, where responsibilities included heading the Sports Business and Charity Groups and advising numerous professional football clubs in England. Additional trustee roles included involvement with QPR IN THE COMMUNITY TRUST, Great North Air Ambulance Service, and St Cuthbert's Care. John obtained a BA in Law & French from The University of Sheffield and began a career at Watson Burton LLP as a Partner before transitioning to Muckle LLP.
