Rhiannon Mason

Rhiannon Mason is a Professor of Heritage and Cultural Studies at Newcastle University, where a research and teaching focus centers on identity, power, and the diverse interpretations of heritage beyond formal cultural institutions. Rhiannon has served as the Head of the School of Arts and Cultures, overseeing disciplines such as Fine Art, Media, Culture, and Music. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in Museum, Gallery, and Heritage Studies at Newcastle University, and earlier positions at Cardiff University and the University of Glamorgan. Rhiannon holds a PhD and an MA from Cardiff University, as well as a BA Hons from the University of Exeter, complemented by studies as an ERASMUS student at Université Rennes 2.
