Bret Gohman

Bret Gohman has a strong background in engineering and manufacturing, with experience spanning several companies and roles. Bret started their career at Mustang Manufacturing Co. Inc as a Design Engineer, where they worked on product design from concept through production, focusing on various aspects including engine installations, hydraulic systems, and noise reduction engineering. Bret then moved on to Blount, Forestry and Industrial Equipment Division as a Design Engineer, specializing in frame and lift system design for large forestry and logging equipment. Later, at Malco Products Inc., Bret served as a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer, leading projects for new product design, performance enhancement, and cost reduction. Their work resulted in three patents for the company and the launch of a new sales category. After that, Bret joined Nova-Tech Engineering as an Engineering Resource Manager/Senior Project Manager, where they led research, design, and development projects for automated poultry and hatchery equipment. Their responsibilities also included project management for large-scale product development and production introduction initiatives. Currently, Bret is working at New Flyer as the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance. Prior to this role, they held positions as Senior Manager and Facilities and Manufacturing Engineering Manager at the company. Overall, Bret has a diverse range of experience in engineering, manufacturing, and project management across multiple industries.

Bret Gohman obtained a Lean Greenbelt Certification in Lean Manufacturing from the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters in 2015. Bret pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Minnesota State University, Mankato from 1989 to 1992. Prior to that, they completed Pre-Engineering studies at St. Cloud State University from 1986 to 1989.
