Electrical Engineer EIT at Newfoundland Power

Thomas Skinner started their work experience in 2018 as an Intern in Project Governance at Seaspan ULC. Thomas assisted with developing and standardizing work instructions and standard operating procedures in the shipbuilding industry. In 2018, they also worked as an Integrated Technical Services Intern at the Canadian Coast Guard, where they developed Java-based software, installed operating systems, and debugged software. In 2019, they worked as a Coop Student in Integrated Technical Services/Electronics & Informatics at the Canadian Coast Guard. In 2020, Thomas worked as an Intern in Electrical Engineering (Substation Maintenance) at Newfoundland Power, where they authored repair processes and improved emergency response plans. Thomas also worked as an Intern in Facilities Management at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where they updated electrical schematics and conducted arc flash studies. Currently, they are working as an Electrical Engineer EIT at Newfoundland Power, coordinating device placement and managing LED streetlight replacement initiatives.

Thomas Skinner attended Memorial University of Newfoundland from 2016 to 2021, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
