Courtney Thomas

CEO & Chief Visionary Officer at Newhouse

Courtney Thomas has a diverse work experience in the nonprofit sector. Courtney is currently serving as the CEO & Chief Visionary Officer at Newhouse, a nonprofit domestic violence shelter. Prior to this, Courtney was a Founding Member of the Kansas City Business Journal Leadership Trust. Courtney also held the position of President & CEO at Central Exchange, where they led the financial, operational, and brand turnaround of the organization. Courtney was also the President & CEO of Great Plains SPCA, where they oversaw the nation's first bistate merger of animal welfare organizations. Courtney began their career at Wayside Waifs, Inc., initially as the Manager of Public Relations, Special Events, and Volunteers, and later as the Chief Operating Officer of the organization.

Courtney Thomas has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Bryan School of Business and Economics at UNCG. They also have some education experience in Accounting from Appalachian State University. In addition to their education, Courtney has obtained certifications in Dare To Lead Training and Certified Animal Welfare Administrator.
