Steve Kundar

Steve Kundar is the current Controller at NewMark Merrill Companies. Prior to this, they were the Controller at Sperber Landscape Companies from October 2020 to August 2021. From August 2009 to July 2020, they were the Senior Vice President, Controller at The CIM Group. There, they established, structured, and managed multiple teams across multiple diverse funds within the Finance and Accounting department, inclusive of all properties' financial reporting, construction/development accounting, financial services and corporate accounts payable. Steve grew managed departments from approximately 7 employees and $7B of AUM to 70 employees and over $30B. Steve maintained oversight of assets' financial reporting for over 10 diverse funds and over 200 investments, inclusive of over 21mm SF of commercial real estate (office, retail & industrial) and over 15,000 multi-family units. From January 1997 to March 2009, they were the Vice President - Portfolio/Finance Manager at Lowe Enterprises. And from February 1994 to January 1997, they were the Accounting Manager at Cushman & Wakefield. Prior to that, they were the Portfolio Accountant at Janss Corporation from January 1993 to February 1994.

Steve Kundar obtained their BA in Economics/Business from the University of California, Los Angeles. Steve then went on to obtain their RPA from the Building Owners & Managers Association. Steve also attended Robert A Millikan High School.

Steve Kundar reports to Sandra Kist, Chief Financial Officer. They are on a team with and Jessica Ramirez - Director, Finance.
