John van Vlear

John Van Vlear is an accomplished environmental attorney with extensive experience in legal work related to site assessments, investigations, and remediations for various projects, including acquisitions, cleanups, and public works. Currently serving as Partner and Contaminated Sites Chair at Newmeyer & Dillion since 2015, John previously held key positions, including Partner and Environmental Chair at Voss, Cook & Thel LLP, and Partner at Brown, Pistone, Hurley & Van Vlear. Additionally, John contributed to the Groundwater Resources Association of California as Director on the Board of Directors. Educational credentials include a J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law, achieved cum laude, and a B.A. in Social Ecology from UC Irvine, awarded magna cum laude.
