Dean Johnstone

Dean Johnstone is an experienced mining professional currently serving as the Superintendent Technical at Ridgeway for Newmont Corporation since January 2024. Prior to this role, Dean held various positions at Newcrest Mining, including Mining Superintendent and Senior Specialist in Mining Operations, from November 2021 to December 2023. Dean also worked at South32 from July 2014 to December 2021, where responsibilities included Mining Operations Superintendent, Production Superintendent, and several other roles focused on safety projects and scheduling. Dean's career commenced at BHP, where the roles included Short Term Scheduler and Graduate Mining Engineer from January 2012 to July 2014. Education includes a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from UNSW, completed between 2008 and 2011.
