James Pentony

James Pentony serves as the Director of Mining - Open Pit at Newmont Mining Corporation, where responsibilities include providing principal engineering support for global operations and projects since February 2012. Previously, James held various roles at Anglo American, including LOM Leader for the Copper Business Unit in Chile, and Life of Mine Manager for Anglo Base Metals, focusing on LOM process implementation and technical support across several regions. James's extensive experience also includes roles as a Consulting Engineer, Senior Mine Engineer, and Mine Engineer at Newmont Mining Corporation, as well as Site Engineer during the feasibility study for the Lisheen project. James holds a Chartered Engineer designation from The Institution of Engineers of Ireland and a B.Eng (Hons) in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines.
