Marcelo Francisco Robledo Barrera

Marcelo Francisco Robledo Barrera is an experienced leader in risk management and mine closure strategies, currently serving as Area Lead Risk & Closure Readiness and Superintendent Environment at Newmont Corporation since February 2018. Previously, at Barrick Gold Corporation from June 2006 to July 2015, Marcelo held the position of Gerente Cierre de Minas Barrick Sudamerica, overseeing mine closure planning in Chile, Peru, and Argentina, with responsibility for a team of six. Additionally, Marcelo managed the closure project for the El Indio and Tambo mining operations, which was a pioneering initiative in Chilean mining. Marcelo's educational background includes a Diploma of Education in Project Management from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and studies at Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
