Russell Turner

Russell Turner (P.Geo.) is a seasoned geoscience professional with extensive experience in resource modeling and governance. Currently serving as Director of Resource Modeling Governance at Newmont Corporation since September 2023, Russell previously held key leadership roles at Teck Resources Limited from June 2012 to May 2023, including Acting Director of Geoscience Services, where oversight of a global team of 40 geoscience experts was paramount. Russell's career includes a strong focus on innovation and risk management in geoscience practices across various mining operations in North America and abroad. Previous positions include Principal Consultant at Snowden and various significant roles at Rio Tinto, contributing to resource modeling, planning, and governance across numerous projects. Russell holds a Citation in Applied Geostatistics from the University of Alberta and advanced degrees in Mineral Resources and Applied Geology from the University of Wales and the University of Leicester, respectively.
