Thomas Curran

Thomas Curran has extensive work experience in the field of social services and mental health. Thomas began their career as a Street Outreach Specialist at Brighton Center Homeward Bound in 2003. Thomas then worked at Lighthouse Youth Services as an Anthony House Coordinator from 2007 to 2011 and later as a Resource Center Coordinator from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, they joined Seneca Center as a Family Support Counselor for three years.

Curran then worked at El Hogar Inc. starting in 2015, where they held multiple roles. Thomas started as a Service Coordinator, providing direct services to homeless individuals with severe mental illness. Thomas conducted mental health assessments, developed service plans, provided case management, and coordinated with Sacramento County Access. In 2016, they became a Program Coordinator at El Hogar Inc., overseeing day-to-day activities and providing leadership and guidance to direct service staff.

In 2019, Curran joined Turning Point Community Programs as a Mental Health Clinician. Their responsibilities included conducting crisis assessments, completing 5150 applications for psychiatric holds, triaging clients between available services, and mitigating the impact of mental health distress on daily functioning. Thomas held this role until December 2021.

Curran then worked at Beech Acres Parenting Center as a Team Lead for the Academy of World Languages from 2020 to 2022. In this role, they supported community needs, facilitated system planning, and contributed to organizational growth and change.

Most recently, Curran joined NewPath Child & Family Solutions, formerly known as St. Joseph Orphanage, as a Foster Care Program Manager. This role commenced in February 2022, and their responsibilities in this position are ongoing.

Thomas Curran completed their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Campbellsville University from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Leadership from Union Institute & University between 2009 and 2012. In 2002 and 2003, they attended Antioch University, where they studied Linguistics. Thomas Curran also holds a certification as a Licensed Social Worker, which they obtained from the State of Ohio in March 2021.
