Gilles Jourquin has extensive work experience in various roles within the pharmaceutical industry. Gilles is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Newpharma since July 2021, after previously working as the Country Manager from July 2020 to July 2021. Prior to that, Gilles worked as a Teaching Master in Pharmaceutical Marketing at Université Libre de Bruxelles - Faculté de Pharmacie starting from September 2009. Gilles also served as a Board Member at McKesson Belgium Holdings from February 2013 to June 2020. Other notable positions they held include New Projects Development Manager Global OneKey at Cegedim Relationship Management (October 2011 to October 2012), Business Support Manager and Business Intelligence Manager at Sanofi Pasteur MSD (January 2010 to October 2011 and August 2007 to December 2009, respectively), Client Services Manager, Operation Director, and Account Director at Cegedim - Dendrite (June 2007 to August 2007, July 2005 to May 2007, and January 2003 to June 2005, respectively), and ICT- Sales & Marketing automation at IMS HEALTH ST - SYNAVANT (August 1999 to December 2003). Gilles also worked as a Toxicology Emergency Department at AZ-VUB from July 1991 to September 1999 and as an Assistant Teacher in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Université Libre de Bruxelles from October 1994 to June 1999.

Gilles Jourquin completed their Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Université libre de Bruxelles from 1988 to 1993. Gilles then pursued further education and obtained a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the same university, completing it from 1994 to 1999. In addition to their doctoral studies, Gilles also pursued post-graduate education at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management. Gilles completed a Post-Graduate degree in Executive Management CEPAC from 1996 to 1997 and a Post Graduate degree in Commerce International PGCI from 1997 to 1998. Later, in 2018 and 2019, Gilles attended the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management once again, completing an Executive Program in Philosophy & Management with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General.
