David Mayer has an extensive career spanning various roles in education, governance, and the creative arts. Currently serving as Chair of Governors at Malpas Court Primary School since 2008, David has also held significant positions within Newport City Council since 1990, including Cabinet Member for Community & Resources and Chair of the Scrutiny Committee for Caring, Learning and Leisure. As Chair of Trustees for Wastesavers Charitable Trust, David plays a crucial role in promoting recycling initiatives in collaboration with Newport City Council. David’s background as a musician and songwriter dates back to 1964, contributing to collaborative music projects.
