Thomas Walter Nielsen has over 30 years of experience in various roles within the retirement plan services industry. Thomas Walter started as a Plan Administrator at Milliman & Robertson in 1992 and worked their way up to become a Retirement Plan Consultant at Berends Moore & Company in 1994. Thomas Walter then transitioned into a Technology Manager role at BMC Consultants before becoming the Vice President of Technology at ABR Retirement Plan Services. After further acquisitions and career advancements, Thomas held positions such as Manager of Technical Control and National Project Manager at Ceridian Retirement Plan Services before joining Newport as the Vice President of Solutions Engineering, Technology, and Digital Innovation in 2020. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in technology, strategic solutions, and digital innovation.
Thomas Walter Nielsen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Mary in 1990. Following this, they went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics with an emphasis in Operations Research at the University of Denver from 1991 to 1992.
