Calyn Acebes, MA, LPC, LMHC, is a seasoned mental health professional with extensive experience in therapy and equine-assisted services. Currently serving as a Therapist at Newport County Community Mental Health Center since January 2012, Calyn provides counseling for children, adults, and families. As the Founder and President of Contact With Horses LLC, established in October 2009, Calyn offers Equine Psychotherapy and Learning services in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Previously, Calyn held the position of Contract Therapist and Program Director with the Medicine Horse Program from June 2006 to July 2011, significantly enhancing the mental health and life skills of diverse populations. Additionally, Calyn served as a Course Instructor for THE WOMENS WILDERNESS INSTITUTE, facilitating outdoor adventure programs for young girls. Calyn holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Naropa University and has received certification in Gestalt Therapy from the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies.
