Douglas Carbell's work experience begins in 2007, where they worked as a Sales representative at Lium Sweden AB for a year. In 2008, they joined Meritmind AB as an Inside Sales representative, and later transitioned into an Account Manager role, responsible for sales and client management with medium-sized companies in Stockholm. Douglas remained at Meritmind AB until November 2010.

From November 2010 to April 2014, Douglas worked at Brightby AB, initially as an Account Manager, establishing long-term customer relationships with large and medium-sized companies in Stockholm. Douglas then moved on to become the Key Account Manager and Team Leader of indoor sales, overseeing a team of sales representatives. Lastly, they served as the Sales Manager and Acting Regional Manager, with responsibilities in key account management and sales leadership.

In 2017, Douglas joined PwC Sverige as a Sales Manager, where they were responsible for developing and managing business relationships with larger companies. This role involved representing PwC's full range of services, including corporate finance, management consulting, taxation, auditing, sustainability, and cybersecurity. Additionally, they briefly had personnel and budget responsibility for the sales team in Stockholm.

Most recently, in 2020, Douglas co-founded Newr - new relations within finance, a company that specializes in recruitment and interim solutions in finance and economics. They aim to be an attractive choice for individuals seeking new challenges within finance and for organizations looking to strengthen their finance functions on temporary or long-term basis.

Douglas Carbell completed the Emerging Leaders program at Novare Leadership Academy in 2019. Prior to that, they attended IHM Business School from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained a DIHM Marknadsekonom degree with a focus on Finance and Marketing.
