Satoko Kato

Satoko Kato is VP, General Counsel and CCO of NewRoad Capital Partners, responsible for legal and compliance matters. Previously, Satoko was Counsel at Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York and Tokyo where she focused on capital markets, including registered securities offerings and private placements in debt and equity, and SEC reporting and compliance. She is also experienced in antitrust government investigations and internal investigations. Immediately prior to joining NewRoad, Satoko was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law where her courses included international business transactions and corporate drafting in the J.D. program, and federal regulations of food labeling and food safety in the Masters of Law (LL.M.) program in Agricultural and Food Law.

Satoko holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and an LL.B. from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.
