Lara Setrakian

CEO, Executive Editor at News Deeply

Lara Setrakian has extensive work experience in a variety of industries. In 2003, they were an Intern Analyst in Corporate Development/M&A at Telefonica SA. Lara then worked as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, they became a Correspondent for ABC News and Middle East Correspondent for Bloomberg Television. Lara then founded News Deeply in 2012 and served as its CEO and Executive Editor until 2019. Since 2018, they have been a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Lara is currently an Impact Partner and Entrepreneur In Residence at Fresco Capital and a Contributor & Impact Council Member at Fast Company. Lara also serves as an expert on the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Media, Entertainment and Culture.

Lara Setrakian attended Harvard University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Lara also attended Middlebury College from 2001 to 2001, where they studied Arabic Language and Literature.
