Richard Bogie has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Richard began their career as a Client Sales Manager at Independent Newspaper in 1986. Richard then moved on to IPCMEDIA, where they served as a Classified Sales Controller from 1991 to 1996. At Express Newspapers, Bogie held the position of Group Ad Sales Director from 1996 to 2001, overseeing a team of over 220 individuals.
Richard joined Scotsman.com as Sales Director in 2001 and later transitioned to Tweeddale Press, where they served as the Group Ad Sales Director from 2009 to 2012. From 2001 to 2013, Bogie had various roles at Johnston Press, including Assistant Managing Director and Advertising Sales Director (Scotland).
In 2013, they became the Group Advertising Sales Director at Johnston Press, where they managed and directed sales activity across different categories of print and digital advertising revenue. Richard also developed sales excellence programs and led group-wide sales initiatives.
Currently, Bogie is working at News UK as the Managing Director of News Scotland and News Ireland since May 2018. Prior to that, they held the position of General Manager Scotland at News UK from 2015 to 2018.
Throughout their career, Bogie has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and expertise in sales and advertising.
Richard Bogie attended The Skinners' School from 1974 to 1982. Richard then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Anthropology at the University of Sussex from 1983 to 1986. No degree name or field of study was provided for their time at The Skinners' School.
