Adam Blackwell has a diverse work experience that spans multiple companies and industries. Adam started their career as a Graduate Instructor at Brigham Young University in 1993 and went on to work as a Lecturer at Ashgabat State University in 1995. In 1997, they joined the University of Utah as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and later became an Adjunct Faculty member and Distance Learning Instructor.

In 2002, Blackwell joined Axiom Press as an Editor, where they played a key role in transforming CultureGrams from a print publication to a digital resource. Adam oversaw the creation and release of various products, including a guide to different cultures for business travelers and a multimedia-based world religions prototype.

Blackwell then joined ProQuest in 2004 and held several roles throughout their tenure. As a Senior Editor, they worked on new product development projects, leading the creation of content and go-to-market campaigns for products related to international conflicts. Adam later became a Product Manager, where they achieved numerous accomplishments, including exceeding billings goals and creating personas for different customer segments. Adam also served as a Senior Market Development Manager, leading the development of the award-winning information literacy product called Research Companion. Finally, Blackwell became the Lead Product Manager, overseeing new product development planning and representing ProQuest at customer events and academic conferences.

In 2022, Blackwell joined NewsBank as the Vice President of Product Management.

Adam Blackwell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Anthropology and Linguistics from the University of Cambridge in 1990. Adam then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Theatre and Film from Brigham Young University, completing it in 1995. Adam furthered their education at the University of Utah Graduate School, earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in British and American Literature in 2001.
