Billal Rahman

Billal Rahman is an experienced journalist currently serving as a Live News Reporter at Newsweek since June 2024. Prior to this role, Billal worked as a Junior Video Journalist at The Independent from April 2022 to June 2024, where content creation for social media and coverage of significant global events such as the Israel-Hamas conflict and the war in Ukraine were key responsibilities. Billal's earlier experience includes a position as a Production Journalist at STV Group plc, producing lunchtime news and live reports during climate protests at Cop 26. Additionally, Billal was the Editor of BEHIND THE DECKS, an electronic music and club culture publication, and interned at Mixmag, contributing numerous articles across both digital and print formats. Billal holds an Honours degree in Journalism from Edinburgh Napier University and an HNC in Practical Journalism from City of Glasgow College.
