Caitlin Jett is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in public information and journalism. Currently serving as a Communications Officer and Public Information Officer at the Newton County Sheriff's Office since March 2020, Caitlin previously worked as a Staff Writer for The Covington News from June 2019 to January 2020. Additional relevant experience includes roles as a Photo Editor, Staff Photographer, and Contributing Photographer at The Red & Black Publishing Co. between August 2018 and May 2019, as well as customer service positions at GameStop and Kroger. Caitlin holds a Bachelor’s degree from Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Georgia, and an Associate of Arts in Pre-Journalism from the University of North Georgia.

The Newton County Sheriff's Office is committed to its constitutional authority to effectively manage the jail facility, court services, and the processing of warrants. Additionally, we patrol the streets, conduct criminal investigations, and support community outreach.
