Parker Wertz has an extensive work experience in the financial industry. Parker is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Newton Investment Management Group, a role they started in September 2021. Newton is an active, sustainable, and thematic investment boutique with operations in the UK, US, and Japan.
Prior to their current position, Parker was the CFO of Mellon, a $650B AuM North American asset management business of BNY Mellon Investment Management. Parker held this role from June 2019 until September 2021. In addition to their responsibilities at Mellon, they also oversaw the financial operations of BNY Mellon IM's Cash Investment Strategies/Dreyfus, ETF, and private equity secondaries business lines.
Before joining Mellon, Parker worked at Deutsche Bank, where they held the positions of Sr. Director - FIG Investment Banking Coverage from May 2017 to May 2018, and Director - Strategy/COO from January 2014 to May 2017.
Earlier in their career, Parker gained experience at Merrill Lynch, where they served as Director - Financial Institutions Group from February 2013 to October 2013, and Vice President - Mergers & Acquisitions from May 2006 to March 2013.
Parker began their professional journey as a Legal Assistant at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where they worked from 2000 to 2003.
Parker Wertz obtained a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) degree with a focus on International Affairs and Finance from The Fletcher School at Tufts University in 2005. In the same year, they also pursued cross registration in Finance at Harvard Business School. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and History from William & Mary in 2000. Apart from their formal education, Parker Wertz has obtained a certification in Series 7 from FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).
