James Spencer

James Spencer is an accomplished legal professional with significant experience in corporate law and venture capital. Currently, James serves as the Head of Legal at Crane Venture Partners and is also a Newton Scholar at the Newton Venture Program, which aims to promote diversity in the venture investing community. Previously, James held the position of Head of Legal - Ventures at NJF Capital and worked as a Managing Associate and Associate in the Corporate department at Mishcon de Reya LLP. Additional experience includes a role as Legal Counsel (Secondee) at Woodford Investment Management and training at Pinsent Masons LLP. James's foundational legal education includes a GDL/LPC from BPP Law School and a degree in Medieval & Modern History from the University of Birmingham.
