Newton Fellow at Newton Venture Program

Sarah Jones is a Principal at Zero Carbon Capital since September 2022, focusing on decarbonisation investments in science-driven solutions across Europe and Israel. Concurrently, Sarah serves as a Venture Associate at the Centre for Climate Change Innovation and a Mentor for The Greenhouse, which supports sustainable startups addressing climate change. Sarah also holds the position of Newton Fellow with the Newton Venture Program, dedicated to promoting diversity in venture investing. Previously, Sarah was the Senior Venture Manager and Climate Program Lead at Creative Destruction Lab, driving mentorship for early-stage climate-focused startups. Earlier experiences include roles at Oxford University Innovation and Imperial Innovations in technology transfer, alongside academic research and teaching at the University of Cape Town. Education includes a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering and multiple degrees in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Rhodes University and the University of Cape Town.
