Debra Somberg

Debra Somberg is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in executive roles across various sectors. Currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors at BECU, the largest community-based credit union in the country, Somberg also holds positions on the Board of Directors for Port Blakely Companies and Absher Construction Company. As the Founder of NewView, a non-profit focused on innovative business models to address social issues, Somberg has demonstrated a commitment to tri-sector engagement. Previous roles include Managing Partner at Sovern Group and Maveron LLC, and Founding Partner at Thomas Weisel Partners. Somberg's early career included significant positions at Montgomery Securities and McKinsey & Company. Educational credentials include an A.B. in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
