Sergio de A. Penchel Jr.

Sergio de A. Penchel Jr. has extensive experience in the mining and metallurgy sector, currently serving as Mining and Smelter Improvement Project Manager and Smelter Technology Manager at Nexa Resources since January 2008. In these roles, Sergio manages teams of engineers and researchers, focusing on the development of pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical processes for metal recovery, particularly for non-ferrous and precious metals, while emphasizing economically and ecologically viable solutions. Prior to Nexa, Sergio worked at Paranapanema S.A. from February 2002 to January 2008 in various capacities, including Staff in the Foundry Area and Supervisor of Production for the Electric Furnace. Sergio holds a Master of Business Administration in Project Management from FGV and a degree from UERJ.
