John Mortensen

John Mortensen has over three decades of work experience in various roles related to measurement, evaluation, strategic planning, and program analysis. John is currently the Vice President of Nexight Group, where they lead the firm's consulting practice in measurement and evaluation. Prior to that, they worked at Energetics Incorporated as the Vice President of the Strategies and Metrics Division, delivering measurement, evaluation, and strategic planning services to public and private sector clients. John also served as a Program Director at Energetics, providing measurement consulting services to government agencies.

Before joining Energetics, Mortensen worked as an independent consultant, assisting the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in developing guidance and estimating program benefits. John also held a position as a Senior Analyst at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where they provided program benefits analysis and developed performance measures.

Earlier in their career, Mortensen worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a Policy Analyst, assisting with the development of performance measures and conducting workshops for program managers. John also gained experience as a Research Technician II at the City of Syracuse - Mayor's Office, where they monitored budgetary developments and coordinated the review of census figures.

John Mortensen has an extensive educational background. John obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Political Science from the State University of New York College at Potsdam, from 1982 to 1986. John then pursued a Master's Degree in Public Administration at Syracuse University - Maxwell School from 1986 to 1987. Continuing their academic journey, they completed their education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Administration from the same institution, Syracuse University - Maxwell School, from 1991 to 1995.
