Marisa T. began their work experience as an undergraduate research volunteer at The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2018. Marisa researched sustainable synthesis of silver nanoparticles using plant extracts, analyzed samples using different laboratory techniques, and presented their findings. In 2019, they worked as an undergraduate research assistant through the Alabama Plasma Internship Program, testing different purification conditions on water using low-temperature, atmospheric pressure plasma. In 2020, they were the graduate researcher and teaching assistant at the same institution and taught Organic Chemistry I and II labs while synthesizing, analyzing, and adapting research plans based on the results of poly(glutamine) with varying chain lengths, using NMR end-group analysis. Marisa continued this role until May 2021. In February 2022, they started working as an Associate Scientist for Nexolve Holding Company, LLC.
Marisa T. completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2020. In 2021, they completed their Master's degree in Chemistry from the same institution.
