Ansgar Thorns

Ansgar Thorns currently serves as Vice President of Research and Development at Nexperia, a position held since April 2012, focusing on R&D for Silicon Carbide (SiC) Power Semiconductors, Power Semiconductors, ESD Protection, and Small Signal Discretes. Prior to this, Ansgar was Senior Director of R&D at Nexperia, overseeing semiconductor R&D, discretes, and integrated circuits. Ansgar began a career at NXP Semiconductors in October 2000, where various leadership roles included Development Manager, with responsibilities in technology development, sensor development, ESD protection and filtering, as well as work on MOSFETs and bipolar transistors and rectifiers, culminating in over a decade of experience in the semiconductor industry.
