Karen Keddy

Karen Keddy is a Professor and Head of the Department at the University of Pretoria, a position held since March 2024. Prior to this role, Karen operated as a self-employed Medical Consultant from May 2018 to February 2024 and worked at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) from 1997 to 2018. Karen Keddy holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health, obtained from the University of the Witwatersrand between 2011 and 2017, and also earned a Master of Medicine (MMed) in Microbiology from the same university, completing the degree from 1993 to 1996.
