Data Science Platform Technical Lead at Nextail

Fermín Vicente Rosas has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Fermín currently serves as the Data Science Platform Technical Lead at Nextail since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at Nextail from January 2020 to November 2021.

Before joining Nextail, Fermín worked at Thales as the ABC R&D Team Leader from April 2019 to December 2019. In this role, they managed and led the development of Automated Border Control (ABC / eGate) R&D products, focusing on embedded hardware and systems for travelers and immigration guards. Fermín was responsible for technological innovation, planning, follow-up, cost control, and acting as the main development lead.

At Gemalto, Fermín held multiple roles. Fermín worked as the ABC R&D Team Leader from May 2016 to April 2019, where they continued to manage and lead the development of ABC R&D products. Prior to this, they served as the Mobile Apps & ABC Team Leader from October 2012 to May 2016. In this role, they led an agile team developing mobile solutions for Android as well as automated border control systems.

Fermín's work experience also includes a position as a Senior Software Engineer at Avalon Biometrics from December 2008 to October 2012. Fermín was responsible for developing various front-end software related to document verification, border control, biometric capture, and verification.

Additionally, Fermín has co-founded two companies. Fermín served as a Co-Founder at Unif Studios from 1994 to September 2012 and at Nickel Labs from February 2010 to February 2012.

Prior to their entrepreneurship ventures, Fermín worked as a C++ Programmer at CETTICO - Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 2005 to 2008.
