Jeffrey is responsible for the design, performance, and energy-efficiency of NEXTDC’s world-leading data centres. As the leader of NEXTDC’s Engineering and Design team and innovation engine, Jeff’s direction has positioned NEXTDC as the first data centre provider in Australia to build a national network of Tier III and Tier IV Certified facilities for both Design and Construction, the platform upon which NEXTDC became the first data centre operator in the Southern Hemisphere to achieve Tier IV Gold Certification for Operational Sustainability – the highest level of independent reliability certification that can be achieved globally. Jeffrey’s commissioning and energy tuning leadership also enabled NEXTDC to become Australia’s first and only NABERS 5-star data centre infrastructure energy efficiency certified operator.

A well-respected leader by the global Engineering community, Jeffrey was acknowledged by peak engineering industry group, Engineers Australia in 2018, as one of the country’s top 30 most innovative engineers having led NEXTDC’s world leading design.

Prior to joining NEXTDC, Jeffrey was based in Singapore for 10 years which included a tenure as the Asia Pacific Technical Director for a leading high-performance global buildings technology company introducing innovative patented energy saving technology throughout Asia Pacific. While based in Singapore, he was also the company’s lead for a number of successful energy-efficient, high tech mega projects across Asia Pacific, such as the multi-billion dollar Marina Bay Sands. Jeffrey also had a tenure of 2 years in California, USA, working on research and development of new patented technologies.

Jeffrey has extensive experience in design, on-site commissioning and troubleshooting data centre and other major projects throughout Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America.

Jeffrey has been awarded an Australian Innovation Patent for an energy saving solution for data centre design which is the basis of his current research-based PhD candidature. He holds an Honours Degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, is an Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer, a Chartered Professional Engineer, Registered Member of Engineers Australia and RPEQ. Jeffrey has received industry accolades by global industry experts Datacenter Dynamics and Uptime Institute. Jeffrey’s expertise led the NEXTDC Engineering and Design team to win the 2014 Data Centre Dynamics APAC award for innovation of the mega data centre awarded in Singapore, The 2018 Datacenter Dynamics Global award for the Design Team of the Year awarded in London and the 2015 Uptime Institute Brill award for efficient IT awarded in Silicon Valley, USA.
