Cory Birt

Cory Birt has a strong background in tax, with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Cory started their career at the Internal Revenue Service as an Examiner from 1990 to 1995. Cory then worked at Arthur Andersen LLP in a tax role from 1995 to 1999. After that, they joined Continental Airlines as a Managing Director - Tax, where they worked for 11 years until 2010. Cory then moved to United Airlines, where they served as Managing Director - Tax until 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they held the position of Senior Director, Tax at ABM Industries, before joining Cheniere Energy as a Senior Director, Tax from 2016 to 2018. Cory then returned to ABM Industries as Vice President, Tax from 2018 until 2023. Currently, Cory is a Vice President, Tax at NextDecade, starting from February 2023. During this time, they also served in various roles at Heatherloch Municipal Utility District from 2016 to 2020, including President, Investment Officer, and Board Member.

Cory Birt has a Master of Accountancy degree with a specialization in Taxation from Brigham Young University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Weber State University. In addition, they hold a certification as a Certified Public Accountant from Utah, which was obtained in 1998.
