Mike Winans

Mike Winans is an experienced marine operations professional with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Director of Marine Operations at NextDecade since October 2025, Winans previously held the position of Marine Operations Manager at Cheniere Energy, Inc. from February 2017 to October 2025. Prior to that, Winans worked as Vessel Manager at NRC National Response Corporation between April 2016 and February 2017. Winans's extensive background includes a distinguished service in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1995 to June 2016, where roles included Officer in Charge of various vessels and teams, culminating as Master Chief Boatswain's Mate. Winans holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University, an Associate's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Technology from Del Mar College, and ongoing education in LNG Shipping at Maritime Training Academy since 2019.
