Josh Chang

Josh Chang has gained work experience in various machine learning and data research roles. Josh started their career as an AI Engineer Intern at IBM in 2019, where they focused on image classification models for detecting specific ear diseases. Josh then worked as a Machine Learning Intern at Cathay Life Insurance in 2020, before joining Yahoo as a Data Research Intern in 2021. During their time at Yahoo, Josh developed an E-Commerce recommendation system, fine-tuned GPT-2 models for generating slogans, and worked with large-scaled data formats on HDFS. In 2022, they interned as a Machine Learning Intern at Apple, and in 2023, they joined Nextdoor as a Machine Learning Engineer.

Josh Chang completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science & Information Engineering from National Taiwan University from 2016 to 2021. Josh then pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Columbia University from 2021 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, Josh Chang has obtained certifications including 8th place (Honorable Mention) in the 2020 AICup - Vocal Transcription Competition and 1st Prize in the 2019 AICup - Thesis Tagging Competition, both from the Ministry of Education's Department of AI Competition and Certification Program.
