James Miles has been working in the IT industry since 2011. James started their career in the United States Air Force as a Cyber Systems Operator (Network and System Administrator), where they provided administration for 2 networks worth $18 million and supported 3,000 staff members and 15,000 joint service students annually. James also performed initial troubleshooting of computer and network problems using remote diagnostic tools to resolve issues. Additionally, they served as a Network Security Technician, where they defended 2 networks worth $18 Million, conducted monthly vulnerability scans installation wide, and provided support to Information Assurance Officers.

In 2014, they joined the Joint Communications Support Element as a Cyber Transport Specialist, where they configured and maintained modular KLAS Voyager communication packages consisting of Cisco Router, KLAS Switch, TACLANE data encryptor, and virtual machine modules that provided secure/non-secure voice, data, and video services in a fixed or deployed environment. James also installed, configured, and implemented satellite transmission devices over various transmission systems using Hawkeye III 1.2M/2.4M VSAT terminals over X, Ku, and Ka frequency bands, and configured and implemented Harris Falcon III Multiband radios for Line-Of-Sight and Satellite Communications.

In 2015, they joined Fragnet Networks AB as a Technical Support/Network Technician, where they were responsible for providing front-line support to 5,000+ users for all sales and support inquiries. James also performed 24/7 network monitoring of performance metrics and response to all critical monitoring alerts using remote diagnostic tools, and replicated client issues and performed troubleshooting for all services including Game, Voice, VPS, VDS, and Dedicated Servers.

In 2018, they joined the Joint Special Operations Command as a Service Desk Specialist, where they developed an application capable of searching thousands of files for content that can be deemed a security violation or pose a risk for spillage, before being transferred between unclassified and classified networks. James also supported and maintained Joint operation center computer systems, desktops, and peripherals.

In 2019, they joined General Dynamics Information Technology as a Network & System Administrator.

Most recently, in 2021, they joined NexTech Solutions LLC as a DevOps Engineer.

James Miles has a diverse educational background. From 2013-2015, they attended the Community College of the Air Force and earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) in Military Information Systems Technology. From 2016-2018, they attended the University of North Florida and studied Computer Science. James also earned several certifications from CompTIA and Cisco during this time. Most recently, from 2018-2021, they attended the University of Maryland Global Campus and earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Networks and Cyber Security.
