Matthew Horton

Matthew Horton has extensive work experience in the field of cyber security and information technology. Matthew started their career in 2015 as a Principal Training Specialist and UAV Subject Matter Expert (SME) at General Dynamics Information Technology. Matthew was responsible for developing and delivering flight and simulations training for UAVs.

From 2014 to 2017, Matthew worked as a Surveillance Operator at EKS Group. Matthew was certified as a level one Surveillance Operator and developed training guides for Department of Defense exercises. Matthew also worked in small teams using push-to-talk phone equipment for effective communication.

In 2016, Matthew joined ACADEMI as a Field Service Representative and SME for UAVs. Matthew acquired the role of site lead and conducted training for military forces in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. Matthew was certified in operating various UAV systems.

From 2018 to 2020, Matthew worked as a Cyber Security Instructor, Proctor, and SME at Succeed to Lead. Matthew developed curriculum for cyber security courses and provided mentoring and coaching to students.

In 2020, Matthew joined The Lockwood Group as a Senior Security Training Specialist, where they continued to develop security curriculum and provide mentorship.

From 2020 to 2021, Matthew worked at Beshenich, Muir, & Associates-BMA as a Senior Training and Development Specialist, focusing on cyber security courses and student progress.

In 2021, Matthew joined Apex Systems as an Information Security/IA Technical Analyst, where they performed Risk Management roles and responsibilities with minimal supervision.

From 2022 to 2023, Matthew worked at the State of Florida and the U.S. Department of State as a Cyber Navigator, responsible for sales, service strategies, and promoting engagement in cyber safety. Matthew also ensured a smooth production process for elections.

From 2023, Matthew joined NexTech Solutions as a Cyber Security Engineer II. In this role, they develop government policies, coordinates security assessments, and implements Risk Management Framework activities.
