John Mathias

John Mathias, GISP has extensive experience in the field of GIS. John started their career as a GIS Technician / Cadastral Mapper at Box Elder County in 2010, where they provided mapping services and analyzed proposed subdivisions. In 2012, they joined the State of Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration as a GIS Analyst, specializing in land use analysis, legal descriptions, and creating online maps. John then worked as a GIS Analyst at Electrical Consultants Inc. from 2014 to 2015, focusing on database development and map creation for survey projects. John also worked as a GIS Analyst at Vivint Wireless during this time. In 2015, they returned to Electrical Consultants Inc. as a GIS Analyst, where they continued their work in GIS database development and map creation until 2019. Currently, John is the Director of GIS and OSP Design at Nextlink Internet, where they manage personnel and projects, creates and maintains GIS/OSP fiber design workflows, and aligns GIS goals with company objectives. Throughout their career, John has consistently demonstrated their expertise and proficiency in the GIS industry.

John Mathias, GISP holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Weber State University, which they obtained between 2001 and 2010. John also possesses a GISP certification from the GIS Certification Institute, which was obtained in 2016.
