Sharon Hurt

Sharon Hurt, PhD, is a Speech Pathologist and Best Practice Lead specializing in adolescent and adult care at NextSense, where employment commenced in August 2011. With a focus on providing services for individuals with hearing and vision impairments, NextSense offers Australia's largest cochlear implant program. Prior to this role, Sharon operated as a self-employed Speech Language Pathologist from September 2009 to July 2012 and gained experience as a Speech and Language Therapist at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and as a Senior Speech and Language Therapist at I CAN - Meath School. Sharon's career began at the University of Cape Town and private practice from 1997 to 2002, following the attainment of a PhD in Speech and Language Pathology from the same institution.
