Katie Brooks has worked in various healthcare roles throughout their career. Katie started as a Registered Nurse at the Royal North Shore Hospital in 1995 and worked there until 1998. Katie then became a Clinical Specialist at N. Stenning & Co from 1998 to 2006. After that, they became the Health Centre Manager at Trinity Grammar School from 2008 to 2019. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Practice Manager at Peninsula Cardiology. Following that, they were a Practice Nurse Manager at For Health from 2021 to 2022. Katie then worked as a Clinical Business Manager at Montserrat Day Hospitals from 2022 to 2023. Currently, they are serving as the General Manager / Director of Nursing at Nexus Hospitals starting from September 2023.

Katie Brooks has a Graduate Diploma in Operating Suite Nursing from the University of Technology Sydney, which they obtained in 1998. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Nursing at The University of Sydney in 1994. In 2009, they gained the Authority for Registered Nurses to Provide Immunisation Services from The College of Nursing. Katie also has various accreditations as a trainer and facilitator in areas such as First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation from Royal Life Saving, Asthma Education from the Asthma Foundation, Anaphylaxis training from Westmead Children's Hospital, and Provide Pain Medication from St Johns Ambulance. Katie'smost recent educational attainment is a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in 2019 from HBA Learning Centres.
