Timur Vlasenko

VP Sustaining Engineering and Transfer at NexWafe

Timur Vlasenko has extensive work experience in the photovoltaic industry. Timur started their career at Silicio Solar S.A.U., where they served as the Director of Technology from February 2009 to September 2012. During their tenure, they played a crucial role in implementing R&D results in mass production, including the successful switch to thin wafer production and the use of UMG-Si at the production scale.

Following their time at Silicio Solar, Timur joined Pillar Group B.V. in September 2008. Timur served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) until May 2018, where they made continuous technological and cost-saving advancements in the PV industry. Notably, they modified CZ growing techniques to obtain ingots suitable for high-efficiency solar cells, including PERC cells. Additionally, they worked as a Production Engineer from October 2002 to August 2008, gaining valuable knowledge in the PV and semiconductor industries.

In 2013, Timur became the Operational Director at Solin Development B.V., a joint venture between Elkem ASA and Pillar Group. In this role, they led an ambitious R&D start-up, focusing on the development of a new purification/crystallization method for PV. Timur successfully industrialized the R&D results and oversaw the construction of a pilot line.

From January 2012 to December 2022, Timur contributed to the International Technology Roadmap for Photovoltaics (ITRPV) as a Contributor. This initiative, led by VDMA, aimed to achieve constant cost reduction and efficiency increase through technological advancements in c-Si products.

Most recently, starting from June 2018, Timur joined FerroSolar OpCo Group S.L. as a Production Manager. This role allowed him to apply their expertise in managing production operations and contributed to the company's success until the present day.

In 2023, Timur is set to join NexWafe as the Vice President of Sustaining Engineering and Transfer.

Timur Vlasenko obtained their Master's degree in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv from 1996 to 2002. In addition, they have obtained various certifications from LinkedIn, including "Foundations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0)" in June 2021, "Becoming a Six Sigma Black Belt" in June 2020, "Becoming a Six Sigma Green Belt" in June 2020, "Six Sigma: Black Belt" in June 2020, "Six Sigma: Green Belt" in June 2020, and various other certifications related to remote working, virtual meetings, and stress management in 2020.
