Lædervarer har været Neye's speciale siden 1881. NEYE kæden blev grundlagt af Johannes Neye den 5. oktober 1881. Han åbnede som 24 årig en galanterihandel i Vimmelskaftet, København. Her ligger NEYEs hovedkontor stadig. I dag ejes kæden af NEYE Fonden, der har som formål at drive butikkerne - og igennem sit overskud at støtte sygdomsbekæmpende forskning.
