Fares Alwaeel

Fares Alwaeel has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and organizations. Fares co-founded NFDHR in 2012 and served as the Chief Executive Officer from September 2017. Fares also held the position of Senior Program Advisor from November 2015 to August 2017. In 2020, Fares founded Azalea Consulting. Prior to these roles, they worked at Yemen Family Care Association as a Programs Officer from January 2012 to September 2014. Fares also served as the Coordinator of The National Population Forum for Civil Society Organization from September 2010 to April 2014, and as the Youth, Childhood & HIV/AIDS Programs Coordinator from November 2009 to December 2011. Fares has demonstrated expertise in program management, resource mobilization, and reproductive health.

Fares Alwaeel's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine from the University of Aden in 2008. Fares then pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a specialization in International Public Health/International Health from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) and KIT Royal Tropical Institute. In 2017, they completed short courses at the University of Amsterdam, one focusing on The Politics of Education and International Development and another on Introductory Course International Development Studies. In 2018, Fares Alwaeel completed a short course on Analyzing Disrupted Health Systems at KIT Royal Tropical Institute. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained certifications in various subjects such as Time Management, Speaker Credibility, Personal Branding, Project Management, and Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn.
